The Fragrance Experience

After Kinam Nights, which expressed kinam in the evening, one question remained in my mind: what would kinam smell like in the morning?

I wanted to create a kinam that welcomed daylight; one that preserved its depth and presence while revealing a brighter, greener side. A kinam surrounded by citrus, flowers, and cool aromatic air, as though the first rays of sunlight had begun to touch the wood.

From this idea, Kinam Morning was born.

The fragrance opens a window onto the morning with a clear, luminous breath of yellow mandarin. Its citrus brightness sparkles gently without becoming overly sweet, accompanied by the clean aromatic coolness of Crimean lavender. Magnolia appears with a delicate dewy softness, calming the citrus and giving the opening the clarity of the early morning air.

Yet this opening does not sit above the kinam as a separate layer. From the first spray, the light begins to enter the wood, revealing greener, cooler, and more crystalline facets within it.

At the heart of the fragrance, Chinese green kinam meets wild Hainan oud. The kinam is green, cool, and crystalline, with a precise and penetrating medicinal character. Wild Hainan oud gives the composition greater body and depth, carrying the humidity of the forest and the shadows of wood, resin, and living earth.

One lifts the fragrance with crystalline greenery; the other anchors it with natural depth. Together, they create a distinct kinamic heart that remains present from the opening until the final trace of the perfume.

Orange blossom moves through this heart with transparent floral radiance, connecting the yellow mandarin and magnolia to the green depth of the kinam. Jasmine sambac adds a soft white floral glow, smoothing the edges of the wood without concealing its identity or drawing the fragrance toward floral sweetness.

Around the kinam rests a delicate layer of Crimean rose, Turkish rose, Taif rose, and Rose de Mai. These roses do not turn the composition into a rose fragrance. They give the kinam softness and space, surrounding its crystalline green character with an elegant floral touch that becomes more apparent as the fragrance draws closer to the skin.

Deeper within the composition, deer musk moves quietly between the roses and the wood. It binds the materials together and lends the base an intimate warmth and texture, while allowing the kinam to remain at the center.

One of the most distinctive qualities of Kinam Morning is how differently it returns to you throughout the day. One moment, a breeze carries kinam illuminated by yellow mandarin, lavender, and magnolia. Later, it arrives surrounded by roses. Then the florals recede, leaving the pure green kinam exposed in all its crystalline clarity. Hours later, these impressions begin to circle back: kinam with citrus and lavender, kinam with roses, then kinam alone once again.

The fragrance seems to change with every passing breath, yet kinam always remains at its center. This movement continues for hours, making each return feel like another expression of the same precious wood.

As the fragrance develops, the citrus light gradually softens, yet the composition never loses its clarity. The green kinam remains cool and crystalline, while the wild Hainan oud becomes smoother and deeper. Traces of lavender, magnolia, orange blossom, jasmine, roses, and musk continue to move quietly around the wood.

At a concentration of 45% Extract de Parfum, Kinam Morning possesses remarkable depth, longevity, and presence while preserving the radiance from which its story began.

Fresh without feeling light.

Floral without becoming sweet.

Deep without descending into darkness.
